• 175 East 10th Anniversary Gathering

We gave our first concert under the name 175 East on April 27 1997*

To celebrate this 10th anniversary, albeit belatedly, we'll be having an informal gathering in the congenial, nay, gemütlich surroundings of The Wine Cellar, down the stairs in St Kevin's Arcade on Auckland's K'Rd.

This won't be a normal 175 East concert but we will, nevertheless, be playing some music, including the following:

John Cage: Five
Elliott Carter: Canon for 4
Lyell Cresswell: Of Whirlwind Underground
Morton Feldman: Durations 4
James Gardner: Knot
Ross Harris: Music for Trombone
Christian Wolff: Edges

We'll also be playing a set of free improvisation.

To help us out musically, we've invited some very special guests to perform with us, but you'll need to come along on the night to find out who they are.
